Vladimir Putin took part in commemorative events marking 75th anniversary of breaking Nazi siege of Leningrad. At Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery, the President paid tribute to the memory of Leningrad residents and the defenders of the city as he laid flowers at the monument to the Motherland. Then, Vladimir Putin visited Nevsky Pyatachok military-historical complex, where he laid flowers at the Landmark Stone monument.

The President also toured the Proryv [Breakthrough] Panorama Museum in Kirovsk and met with veterans and members of youth organisations.

Visiting the Proryv Panorama Museum

Kirovsk, Leningrad Region

Vladimir Putin toured the recreation of the battle near the village of Arbuzovo on the southern tip of Nevsky Pyatachok during his visit to the Proryv [Breakthrough] Panorama Museum. The President also met with veterans and members of youth organisations, and watched a new feature film Frontier with them. Its main character was transported from today to January 1943, when bloody fighting took place on Nevsky Pyatachok.
