Trip to Tatarstan
Vladimir Putin had a meeting in Kazan with representatives of Muslim organisations and the leaders of the Bulgarian Islamic Academy, visited the Kazan Gorbunov Aviation Factory, where he watched a demonstration flight of the new Tu-160M supersonic strategic missile carrier and talked to employees of the plant.
The President also learned about the work of the Institute for Fundamental Medicine and Biology of Kazan Federal University and held a video conference with the country’s leading universities.
In addition, Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. During the meeting, the President joined a ceremony at the TANEKO Company’s oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk live via video linkup and ordered the launch of the new naphtha hydro treatment and isomerisation units. During the working trip, the President also met with former head of Tatarstan Mintimir Shaimiyev, and had meetings with the KAMAZ-Master Team and Tattelecom Director General Lutfulla Shafigullin.
Vladimir Putin also spoke at the Forward Together national forum of student clubs and congratulated its participants on Russian Students Day.
