Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the Transfiguration of the Saviour Patriarchal Monastery on Valaam Island and the Konevsky Monastery (Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery) on Konevets Island. The two leaders’ meeting was informal. The next day, the two
presidents took part in the 6th Forum of Russian and Belarusian
Regions in St Petersburg.
Vladimir Putin also met with Acting Governor of St
Petersburg Alexander Beglov, leader of the Ukrainian Choice – People’s Right
party Viktor Medvedchuk and Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben van Beurden.
