State visit to Vietnam
Vladimir Putin made a state visit to Vietnam.
The President arrived in Hanoi in the evening of June 19. The following day, Vladimir Putin and President of Vietnam To Lam held Russian-Vietnamese talks with the participation of their respective delegations in the official residence of the President of Vietnam.
Following consultations, a ceremony for the exchange of signed documents was held in the presence of the heads of state. In addition, the sides adopted the Joint Statement on further developing their comprehensive strategic partnership within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the implementation of the Treaty on the Principles of Friendly Relations between Russia and Vietnam. The two leaders also made statements for the press.
Vladimir Putin met with Prime Minister of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.
The President of Russia also took part in wreath-laying ceremonies at the War Memorial and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
Vladimir Putin and President of Vietnam To Lam met with graduates of Soviet and Russian universities at the Hanoi Opera House.
Following the event, the leaders attended a concert and a gala reception hosted by the President of Vietnam in honour of the President of Russia.
In conclusion of the visit, Vladimir Putin answered questions from Russian journalists.
