The meeting was attended by Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrei Bocharov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Construction Yevgeny Moskvichev, Deputy Minister of Transport Igor Chalik, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Bocharov, officials from federal and regional authorities and organisations.
The discussion focused on the development of regional and local air transport in the Russian Federation, including the development and the manufacturing of domestic aircraft for these purposes.
The participants highlighted the need for the continued improvement of programmes for subsidising air travel, developing regional and local airports, and using ultralight and light aircraft in commercial air transport.
Following the meeting, the Ministry of Transport was advised to work through the proposals in conjunction with the relevant federal executive bodies, constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and the industry-specific expert and business community.
The Commission's initiatives will be submitted for consideration at the meeting of the State Council Presidium on strategic priorities for developing the transport industry.
