The meeting was attended by Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Alexander Osipov, Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasyev, as well as representatives of executive authorities and the expert community.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin spoke about plans to hold a meeting of the State Council Presidium on the development of the labour market in the Russian Federation and training qualified personnel.
Dmitry Afanasyev spoke about the training of personnel in higher education institutions, the results of their subsequent employment and their distribution between industries, labour mobility and projected wages. He also proposed to consider updating the scale, structure and content of training at higher education institutions in accordance with economic development priorities.
Reports were delivered by representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Economic Development. The participants reviewed the current labour market situation and considered the prospects for its development taking into account long-term demographic and structural challenges. They spoke about the implementation of the “Professionalitet” federal project, specifically discussing ways to make the secondary vocational education system more focused on the successful employment of graduates and advanced training in accordance with the needs of the labour market. Speakers discussed participation in small and medium-sized business ownership, trends in the number of sole business owners and self-employed individuals paying tax on their professional income, as well as the implementation of the Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Support for the Individual Entrepreneurial Initiative national project.
The participants considered the plan for the commission and federal executive bodies to prepare for the State Council Presidium meeting.
