Among the attendees were Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekirinsky, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, officials from related regional and federal government bodies, and representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, leading higher education institutions, and the academic and expert community.
In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin noted the need to continue the work to develop state programmes on scientific and technological development of the Russian regions based on the best practices of the regions that hold leading positions in the national ranking.
Head of the State Council Commission on Science Andrei Travnikov reported on the commission’s work to implement the presidential instructions to create a national ranking and programmes for the scientific and technological development of the Russian regions issued following a joint meeting of the State Council and the Presidential Council for Science and Education on December 24, 2021.
A discussion was held on the development of programmes of the scientific and technological development of the Russian regions involving the representatives of relevant federal and regional bodies of executive authority and the academic and expert community.
The proposals supported by the commission will be taken into account during the preparation of materials for the joint meeting of the Russian Commission on Scientific and Technological Development and the State Council Commission on Science that will take place as part of the 3rd Congress of Young Scientists in Sochi.
