On February 7 Vladimir Putin will inspect the facilities of the coastal cluster in the Imeretin Valley, some of which are operational and others under construction.

It is planned that the President will visit the Olympic Village that is being constructed, the main media centre, the Adler Arena indoor skating centre, the Ice Cube curling centre, and the small and large ice hockey rinks.

At the end of this two-day inspection President Putin will hold a meeting On the State of Preparations for the 2014 XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. Meeting participants will discuss the social, engineering and transport infrastructure that has been built in Sochi, holding competitions in designated facilities prior to the Olympics, the organisation of the Olympic Games themselves, and hosting athletes and guests.

Vladimir Putin will also take part in the ceremony to be held in the Bolshoy Ice Dome to commemorate exactly one year that remains to the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. The ceremony will launch a 365-day countdown to the opening of Russia’s first ever Winter Games. The programme includes the official launch of the Sochi 2014 ticket sales, the ceremonial invitation of representatives of national Olympic committees to Sochi’s Olympic Games, as well as an ice show.
