The President heard the report of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin and ordered him to immediately fly to North Ossetia.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) director Alexander Bortnikov briefed President Medvedev on the investigation progress.
President of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Taimuraz Mamsurov informed Mr Medvedev about the measures to provide assistance to the victims, and rescue relief efforts.
