The implementation of priority national projects is a unique and independent area in which the party can operate. When meeting with State Duma deputies from the United Russia Party, the President emphasized that the party has sufficient strength and resources to set concrete goals, achieve tangible results, and do more than simply organize public control over the national projects execution.
Vladimir Putin pointed out the necessity of systematic work on drafting laws. This year the party must make all due modifications to the law on basic maternity capital so that the first payments be made for children born starting from 1 January, 2007. They must also work out all necessary legislative acts regarding the new amounts for child payments as quickly as possible.
The party must continue legislative work towards modernizing the national education system, increasing housing construction, developing agriculture and improving legal relations in the high-tech field, in sectors such as energy, communications, outer space, aviation and intellectual services.
The President emphasized that the best pre-election campaign consists not of generous promises but of concrete achievements.
