The meeting took place as a free exchange of views.
A wide range of issues concerning the country’s social, economic and political development were discussed, including the fight against corruption, rising prices for fuel for agricultural needs, problems in the timber export sector, and the results of the new national final school exam.
The President also proposed that the parliamentary party leaders take a look at how preparations for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics are progressing.
This meeting with the leaders of political parties represented in the State Duma continues a series of consultations Mr Medvedev has been holding with the different political forces. Over the last few months, the President has met separately with the leaders of United Russia, A Just Russia, the Communist Party, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), and with the leaders of parties not represented in the national parliament.
