Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev and Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov briefed the President on the search and rescue operation at the plane crash site. Vladimir Putin noted that the most important thing at present is to assist the victims’ families.
Heading for the crash location were Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov, Head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport Alexander Neradko and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Southern Federal District Vladimir Ustinov.
The FlyDubai airlines Boeing 737–800 on its way from Dubai crashed at 3:42 am on Saturday at the Rostov-on-Don airport as it was making a repeated landing attempt in difficult weather conditions. It had 62 persons on board.
