Taking part in the meeting were Deputy Chairman of the Commission and Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Minister Mikhail Abyzov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Construction Yevgeny Moskvichev, heads of federal and regional state bodies, representatives of state corporations and aerospace and transport sector organisations, and representatives of public and professional aviation organisations.
The main subject on the agenda was raising the effectiveness of state regulation of paid use of light aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The participants discussed the prospects for rapidly establishing the economic and legal conditions needed to develop an effective civil aviation market segment and ensure access to use of light and unmanned aircraft for the broadest possible range of consumers.
The discussion noted that this sector’s development must be pursued in strict respect for rules governing airspace safety. The Commission members noted that an approach based on risk assessment will facilitate this goal.
The meeting also approved the Commission’s work plan for the second half of 2017.
