The talks focused in particular on ways to maintain stability in the region and on cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and the Eurasian Economic Community.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Rahmon signed a border cooperation agreement and a joint declaration following their talks.
The two presidents also witnessed the signing of a protocol between the Russian Federal Security Service and Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security on border cooperation, and the intergovernmental economic cooperation programme for 2011–2014.
