Mr Putin congratulated Mr Kocharian on his election as President of Armenia. The Armenian President thanked Mr Putin for his congratulatory message and the phone call. Both sides expressed their determination to improve Russian-Armenian cooperation.
Mr Putin told Mr Kocharian about his meeting with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and Abkhazian Prime Minister Gennady Gagulia. Mr Kocharian praised the contribution of the two leaders to the world’s interests and stability in the whole Caucasian region.
