Mr Rakhmonov expressed his condolences for the victims of the barbarous terrorist attack in the North Caucasus. In his opinion, all these actions were evidence that the militant groups were in their death throes.
During the discussion, the heads of state examined practical issues related to Russian-Tajik cooperation. Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov recognized the need to boost collaboration in trade and the economy and to enhance the effectiveness of the Inter-governmental Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
They also exchanged their views on preparations for a summit meeting in Shanghai and discussed plans for future bilateral contacts, including top-level meetings.
