The heads of state discussed prospects for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
After the meeting, Mr Putin told journalists his attitude to the problem. As he saw it, closer Azerbaijani-Armenian contacts would enhance the chance of success of the peace process. Mr Putin said that Russia would do everything possible for the Nagorno-Karabakh problem to be resolved.
