The President said that Russia considers Uzbekistan a close partner, relations with which are a determining factor in the success of Russia’s policy in Central Asia.
Mr Medvedev noted that Mr Tyurdenev is an experienced diplomat who has worked in Latin American countries and is familiar with the CIS.
