Visit to Uzbekistan. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit
Vladimir Putin visited Uzbekistan to attend the SCO summit in Samarkand.
On September 15, the President of Russia had a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, namely with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and President of China Xi Jinping. Trilateral talks were also held with the head of the People's Republic of China and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelskh. Vladimir Putin also met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and presented him with the Order of Alexander Nevsky for his great contribution to strengthening friendly relations with Russia.
On September 16, the President of Russia attended a restricted attendance meeting and an expanded meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council. Following the summit, the leaders signed the Samarkand Declaration and adopted a set of documents.
After the summit, the President of Russia held bilateral talks with Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and answered journalists' questions during the concluding news conference.
