Trip to Siberian and Far East Federal Districts
Vladimir Putin conducted a working trip to regions in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts, where he visited areas affected by flooding, held a series of on-site meetings on relief efforts following the floods and met with municipal government representatives in the Jewish Autonomous Region, Amur Region and Khabarovsk Territory.
The President also reviewed the progress in the restoration of the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station and held meetings on developing Russian commercial shipbuilding, the electrical power sector in Siberia and the Far East, and the socioeconomic situation in Primorye Territory.
In Vladivostok, the President toured several of the city’s sports, educational and cultural facilities, an oceanarium currently under construction, a rehabilitation centre for endangered species and the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island. Mr Putin also answered journalists’ questions.
